Hello December! ⛄️ Can you even believe it is already the end of 2016? It seems each year speeds by more and more quickly, this year flew past! Welcome to another month of Blogging Friends Blog Hop. This month our theme is Christmas Stamped Cards.
We have a very special guest joining us on our hop this month. The one and only Brian King of Stamp With Brian. I’m so excited to have him this month. I’ve been a long time fan of his work! Recently Stampin’ Up! announced that Brian is number 34 globally with Stampin’ Up! out of 46,000+ demonstrators worldwide! A huge congratulations to him!
Christmas Stamped Cards
The Embellished Ornaments Stamp Set was first introduced in last year’s Holiday Catalog. I’m so glad they did not retire this set, since I think it is just so gorgeous. This stamp set also has a coordinating Thinlits Dies Set called Delicate Ornaments. Because of the intricate work on these Dies, it is very important to use the Precision Base Plate with the Big Shot. This truly helps you get a clean cut on all those gorgeous details.
When looking for a sentiment to put next to the ornament, I had to find one that would fit in that space. What I ended up doing is using the “Merry Christmas” sentiment from another stamp set, Star of Light, which is a horizontal greeting. I used my Stampin’ Write Marker in Cherry Cobbler to color the “Merry”, stamped it and cleaned the stamp. Then I colored “Christmas” and stamped it below “Merry”.
I finished off this card by adding Whisper White Cardstock to the inside of the card. I used the sentiment and the Holly vines from the Embellished Ornaments Stamp Set . All-in-all, I’m very pleased with how this card turned out!
Star of Light
My second Stamped Christmas Card was created using the “Star of Light Stamp Set”.
The 3D effect of this card was created using the coordinating Dies, Starlight Thinlits. I then popped the star up using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a little bling with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.
The inside of the card was finished off with the rest of the Star of Light sentiment and “Merry Christmas”.
Since Soft Sky is a very light color, I dry embossed all of the sentiments and stamped stars.
My project supply list for both cards! Click Products to shop online.
