Just this past Wednesday, August 11 I got to take my family to see Disney On Ice. This was the first event of this caliber I have ever been able to take Anna and Ethan to. Megan has been to a Disney On Ice show but it was before Anna and Ethan were ever born so she does not remember much of it.
To see the look on Anna and Ethan’s face when the show first started was absolutely priceless. They were just so in awe of the whole event. Val from Windy City Live opened the show, which then brought Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Donald Duck on to the ice. After Mickey, Minnie and Donald Duck everyone’s favorite Genie from Aladdin and Aladdin himself came on the ice.
The next set of Disney characters to come onto the ice was none other than Nemo, with his dad and Dori! The shark was very cool, and BIG from Nemo!
It was then time for the Disney Princess’s to make an appearance. First up was Belle with the Beast and all the characters from Beauty and the Beast.
One of my favorite parts of the Disney On Ice performance is from Toy Story when all the Soldiers were skating in unison. Of course, Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie were part of the performance.
Another one of my favorite parts of the show was the lights parade, which came on right after a beautiful performance of “It’s A Small World”. This reminded of the lights parade at Disney World!
Ending the first half of the show was Mickey Mouse in a hot air balloon. It really was gorgeous!
During intermission, when my bought a bag of cotton candy for the kids, he showed up with this hat from Toy Story…the kids had a great time with this hat!
So this was just the first half of the show. Many more characters came out to perform, such as Pinocchio, The Incredibles – with the dad doing an awesome performance to “I’m Too Sexy”, Mulan, and more.
You do not want to miss this performance of Disney On Ice!
