Diverse Handmade Tree Cards – Blogging Friends Blog Hop

It’s the first of the month again, which means it’s time for another Blogging Friends Blog Hop! This month our theme is “Lovely As A Tree” Stamp Set, or similar tree theme. Well, I thought I was all prepared for this month when I ordered my stamp set a couple of months ago. However, I bought the “Thoughtful Branches” stamp set. Not the right one. 🙁 Nonetheless, I think what you’ll find, are diverse handmade tree cards.

Diverse Handmade Tree Cards

Tree themed stamp sets are incredibly versatile. My hope is that you will find lots of inspiration as you hop along. All three of my cards were created using the Thoughtful Branches Bundle from Stampin Up. Although this particular set is no longer available, I think it will give you a good idea of the many ways you can use tree themed stamp sets

Card One

Diverse Handmade Tree Cards

For this card, I created the pumpkin by using the hydrangea stamp upside down and snipped a stamped tree trunk for the stem. For the background, I stamped the leaves then used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to give add a little more dimension. After I stamped the leaves and the grunge, I then ran the base through the embosser using the Woodlands Textured Embossing Folder.

Card Two

I had seen a card similar to this and just loved how simple but class it looked. This card was created with Whisper White cardstock and Real Red cardstock. I used the Softly Falling Embossing Folder for the layer beneath the tree.

Card Three

Lastly, I totally CASED this card from Card-iology By Jari. I saw it and fell in love with it. Although, I did use Cherry Cobbler instead of Cajun Craze and used a different sentiment! 🙂 I used Crumb Cake cardstock for the base, layered with Sahara Sand (dry embossed with Woodland Textured Embossing Folder, the layered with Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla cardstock. The trees are stamped in Soft Suede, and the leaves are stamped in Cherry Cobbler. Some of the leaves were stamped off first to give them a lighter color. The leaves are then stamped in Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler, and Crumb Cake.

Here is how the inside of this card looks:
