For this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge, I switched gears a little bit and went with a Halloween card instead of Christmas. However, I still stuck with a current season!
DIY Halloween Card
I really like the sketch this week, there are so many things you can do with it. I did make a few subtle changes to the overall look of my card, but I think it still contains all of the key elements! 🙂
There are a couple of items I used for this card that are retired. However, I also need to start using up some of these older retired products, so I worked out very well. The two retired items are the Black Chevron Ribbon and the other one is the Halloween Designer Series Paper (DSP). Everything else is currently available at Stampin’ Up!
For the card base and the scalloped circles, I used Pumpkin Pie Cardstock. I then added a layer of Basic Black Card Stock, which I also used for the circle punched embossed spider and spider web. The stamp set I used was the Happy Scenes set currently available in the Stampin’ Up Holiday Catalog.
I embossed the spider and web, as well as the “Boo” sentiment (from Happy Scenes), using the following Stampin’ Up! products: Whisper White Craft Ink, White Embossing Powder and the Heat Embossing Tool. My brother-in-law’s birthday is on Halloween. Don’t you think this would make an adorable birthday card?
You can purchase any or all of these products by clicking on the pictures of the items below.
