I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Sprint. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
Last week I had the pleasure of being invited to a Sprint Event in Chicago. I had such a great time satisfying my techy side. I truly do have the heart of a tech geek. I learned so much while I was at this event, not only about their great services and kid-friendly plans, but also the technical side of things in regards to faster data speed coming to Sprint.
Going into this meeting, I honestly did not know too much about Sprint. My husband’s company used to use them exclusively for all their field workers. However, they went a different route a couple of years ago allowing employees to use their own carriers and then receiving a monthly expense payment. What I had heard years ago was that the service was rather iffy.
Well, my friends, I am here to tell you the tide has changed at Sprint. Years ago they purchased Nextel, which used completely different technology than Sprint. In the process of bringing Nextel in to their system, the quality of Sprint’s service suffered. However, since that time, Sprint has become bigger and stronger with many advancements in technology and the flow of data.
While at sprint, we were split in groups of 3 and then spent 20 minutes at 4 different stations. The first station was to educate us on their available data plans. The second station allowed us to check out some of the higher end phones they offer. The third station, my favorite, went into detail about the speed of data and what they are doing to make it even faster. The last station was to inform us of their Direct 2 You service.
Know Your Data Plan Options
There are a lot of great options at Sprint.
Boost Mobile is a very popular item for parents of kids with cell phones. This particular phone is set up with a prepaid plan and includes unlimited data, calling and text. Boost Mobile starts at $30 a month with 2GB of data when you sign-up with Auto-Reboost.
Virgin Mobile Unlimited offers unlimited plans now with more data. It is very similar to Boost Mobile, but with more perks! Their plans start at $35 a month with 1 GB of data, unlimited talk and text. Also, if you are looking for a phone for your child without the worries of data, they have a $25 a month plan that has 500 minutes of talk and unlimited text!
Sprint Prepaid This is a Nationwide plan that starts at $35 a month with no credit checks and no contracts. It includes 1 GB of 4G LTE Network, unlimited talk and text.
Get The Newest Technology
Oh how I love new technology! I currently have the Samsung Galaxy 6 Edge but am dying to get the new Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Although, there are so many great options that are available in cell phones.
One of their cell phone plans is called the iPhone Forever Plan, which includes your ability to get the newest iPhone anytime…forever!
Sprint offers many options in phone plans for individuals and families. Their individual plans start at $60 with unlimited talk, text, and data. While their family plan starts at $20 a month with 1 GB of shared data.
Would you like to switch carriers, but are stuck with an unpaid phone and/or contract? Sprint will payoff your current phone and contract in order for you to make the switch to them!
Faster Data Speed Coming To Sprint
What’s Carrier Aggregation And It’s Connection With The iPhone 6s?
Here is one major reason why you may want to consider a switch. When we met with their tech people at the Sprint Headquarters, we were informed of their Carrier Aggregation (CA) process. What’s that? Basically there are what’s called Spectrums or channels that are owned be all the phone carriers in the air waves. Each spectrum has it’s own unique code. When you aggregate spectrums, you combine several of these spectrums together. So, instead of data running through a garden hose…in now runs through a fire hose! Cool stuff, right?!
In fact, the iPhone 6s that was just released on Friday, September 25th is the first to be CA ready. You want the biggest bang for your buck? Go with Sprint as your carrier for you new iPhone 6s.
By the way, they own massive amounts of Spectrum…more than any other carrier!
Direct 2 You Service
When you get a new phone at Sprint, they do not leave you hanging with how to transfer all of your data over to your new device. They send someone to you, where and when is up to you. They will not only transfer over all of your contacts and photos, but also all of your apps!
This is probably my biggest issue with getting a new device. My carrier will move my contacts over, but I get home and find out I’m missing half of them. I also then have to re-install of my apps and set them up, which takes up a ton of time. The Sprint Direct 2-You is a free service that comes with your new device, making life even easier!
New technology for me, thanks to Sprint! As part of my participation in this event, I got to take home an LG 4G. This is the next-generation G series smartphone from LG. Remember my earlier comment about dying for a Samsung Galaxy Note 5? I don’t know now. This is a pretty awesome phone. However, my husband has already put in his request for this phone. Since he does have the older phone, I may have to cave. 🙂
The back of this phone is covered in genuine leather, which is super cool and comfy on the hands. It also features a 5.5″ Quad HD display, 32GB of internal memory, and 3GB of RAM.
The camera is A-MAZING!! For someone who takes pictures all the time for a blog, that is such an important feature. The LG G4 is the first smartphone from Sprint with a total of 24 megapixels of crisp photo clarity. It has a 16MP Rear – Facing Camera and an 8MP Front-Facing selfie camera. Its camera is more “Pro” than any of the other smartphone cameras I’ve ever seen. It features f/1.8 low-light lens, Manual Mode, Optical Image Stabilization, Laser Autofocus, and high-res image sensors.
I feel there is so much more I have to share with you that I learned from the visit, but I think I may need to save that for another post!
