New Sporty Scion FR-S
Toyota just introduced the new sporty Scion FR-S in June (2012). This is a totally sharp looking car. It seems over the years cars have started looking less sporty, but more luxury. Toyota wanted to bring sport back to the car with the inception of the Scion FR-S.
You can see from the infographic below how the Scion FR-S was “born”. It has actually descended from Toyota’s motorsport heritage. The Sports 800 along with the 2000 GT (cool car!), the Corolla GTS were the jumping points for the Scion FR-S. It took years of research and testing to go from concept to the actual, real-life vehicle.
I love the colors that are available for this car! There are actually a lot of colors to choose from: Raven, Asphalt, Ultramarine, Firestorm, Hot Lava, Argento, and Whiteout. You can see all the available colors in the infographic below. I have never had a car in deep blue so I really like that Ultramarine color. Although, with this being a sporty little car I almost feel like I would need to get it in the Firestorm color. Not that I am in the market for a new car, nor would this car even fit all of kids. I am just thinking aloud!
Scion Concept Car
The Scion concept car that was announced in celebration of the new FR-S was the “The Scion Speedster” by Cartel Customs at the 2012 SEMA. SEMA is the premier automotive specialty products trade event in the world. It draws the industry’s brightest minds and hottest products to one place. Cartel Customs is located in Simi Valley, California, and they specialize in the design and manufacturing of custom display cars, motorcycles, & everyday car enthusiast vehicles that just want that extra touch.
