Is it a major faux pas to send out your happy holiday wishes before the actual holiday? I hope not, since I still have yet to send out my cards! Since we are just in the throws of the new year I’m hoping it will be seen as acceptable. 🙂
How many of you are ready to start off fresh in the new year? Last year was not necessarily a bad year, but it wasn’t the best either. I had something medically that really effected my overall well-being. Then, with the addition of the holidays, I kind of went into hibernation. I focused on family and things that brought me peace.
So, I made a lot of cards for the holidays and did a lot of knitting. Those were my two feel good mental breaks that helped me get back to a much better place.
They say things happen for a reason. I believe one reason for me going through everything I did was to reset priorities. This whole experience over the past several months with medical issues forced me to take more time for myself, which I rarely ever do.
Happy Holiday Wishes
This year, I actually had my Christmas cards on time to send out. Why didn’t I mail them out? Overwhelmed. 🙁 I had all of my Christmas shopping to do last minute since the check I needed for shopping did not arrive until Friday, December 18.
Prior to the check arriving, I was also working two on a pairs of fingerless convertible mittens I was knitting for Christmas gifts. The one pictured below is half of the pair for my daughter. I am also making her a matching sawtooth hat. The other pair of these mittens are for my sister. Her’s are in a dark purple and the off-white that these are in.
Back to the Christmas cards now. I had a lot of fun with holiday cards that were offered from Stampin’ Up for 2015. For the cards below, I heat embossed image and then used Stampin’ Write Markers to color in some of the image details.
I enjoyed playing around with the sets of holiday stamps I had bought. Using the same stamp sets but to create different versions of the same card.
The card on the right with the dots and trees is part of a stamp set called “Happy Scenes”. This particular set included stamps not only for Christmas, but also Halloween and two general sentiments “Happy Winter” and “Celebrate the Season”.
Stampin’ Up is currently in the throws of Sale-A-Bration where they are introducing fun new stamp sets and accessories. You also have the opportunity to earn free products! As part of Sale-A-Bration, they are also are bringing back some favorites, including the stamp sets pictured above, in their Occasions Catalog. You can see these specific favorite sets in the favorites section of the here.
I hope your holiday was a very happy and relaxing one! Look for some big changes to come to this site soon!
