There is a quaint little town about an hour away from us called Long Grove here in Illinois. Each year they hold three different festivals, each deliciously wonderful! They have a Chocolate Festival in May, a Strawberry Festival in June, and an Apple Festival in September. This past weekend our family was able to enjoy the tastes at Chocolate Festival and see the Mohawk SmartStrand Silk Carpet demonstration.
Do you have carpeting in your home with children? If so, then your probably aware of the beating your carpeting faces each day. We have a light colored carpet, which shows every spot and spill. We also have a dog and a cat that make messes too. Cats have hairballs and dogs can get sick. We have a bottle of cleaner handy to spray and scrub any type of mess that comes up. However, once there is a stain it is really hard to make it disappear completely.
Mohawk Smartstrand Silk Carpet
A few years ago we had our bedrooms re-carpeted with a carpet that is made out of corn fiber. It is awesome carpeting. It cleans up very easy and still looks brand new. The Mohawk Smartstrand Silk Carpet is made out of this corn fiber too. I was excited to see it put to the test. The Mohawk demonstration invited kids to make a mess at their Spill Station. This spill station included items such as chocolate, wine, and blue PowerAide. Kids were very excited to try out this demonstration. What kid would not be excited being invited to make a mess and not get in trouble for it?
The kids had an great time spraying little 6 x 6 squares of Smartstrand carpeting with the bottles of mess. Then it was a lot of fun for them to see it come completely clean with just water. Smartstrand Carpeting is very unique in that it is made out of the all natural fiber of corn. This carpeting is environmentally friendly since it is made out of renewable resources. The corn fiber creates a built in natural stain resistant carpet. There is no need to treat this carpeting with any type of stain preventative.
I was really excited to have the opportunity to meet several other bloggers in the area. We had an opportunity to make a mess as a group and then clean it up. We were all given our #LicensetoSpill!
Tricia, of Night Owl Mama, and I decided to have some fun and put smiley faces on our pieces of carpeting and then clean it off. Tricia used chocolate and I used blue PowerAide.
The Mohawk Smartstrand Carpeting comes in several different colors and textures.
At the Mohawk Smartstrand Carpet demonstration was a table of delicious treats by Sweet Whimsy Bakery. A chocolate fountain was at the center of the table. This is one item in particular my children have been asking for since last Fall! Pineapple, Strawberries and Flourless Chocolate cake was provided to dip into the chocolate.
The folks at Mohawk were so amazing and fun! We had a blast at their demonstration!
After we left the demonstration, we had to go home for my nephews birthday party. Although we did manage to make time for a little bit of face painting, as well as chocolate covered strawberries and delicious smoothies before we left!
