New Monsuno Core Sets
My poor son lives in a world of pink, purple and princesses. My oldest is a girl and was already 4 when the twins were born so a lot of the toys that we have in the house are “girl” toys. Fortunately it has not bothered Ethan, nor has it effected him in anyway. However I like getting some “boy” toys in the house when I can. That is one of the reasons why I was excited to be able to review the new Monuso Core Sets and Transforming Action Figures by Jakks Pacific.
I had heard of Monsuno but was not fully aware of the story behind these action figures or even how they worked! The show Monsuno airs each Thursday at 8:30 ET/5:30 PT on Nicktoons, and has now spun off into a popular boys collectable action toys. These toys are similar in play to Pokemon and Bakugan with collectible cards and action figures. Thankfully I have 3 older nephew who can educate me on all these things!
The toy line features favorite characters from the television show that perform a fast-action battle play. Players simply load their Monsuno monsters into their cores and spin them into battle against another core; upon impact the Monsuno figures are launched from their cores ready for battle. The Monsuno Core Combat 2-Packs equip you with double the Monsuno action.
The targeted age for this series of toys is 6 – 11, however the toys themselves are for 4 and above. My son is 4 and will be 5 next month so I feel he will definitely grow into these toys. It will be fun to watch how, as he grows with them, the way he plays with them will change.
