HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 🎉 Welcome to our January 1st blog hop! This month’s blog hop is featuring stamp sets from our Occasions Catalog 2017, which kicks off on January 4th. This date will also be the start of Sale-A-Bration. This is an amazing yearly Stampin’ Up! event that not only signifies the introduction of the products in our Spring (Occasions) Catalog, but also a time when you can earn free products.
We have the honor of another very special guest hopping with us this month – Janet Wakeland of Remarkably Created. It was recently announced that Janet is the third top demonstrator in the US and 4th Internationally. Wow, such an amazing achievement. Congratulations Janet!!
Occasions Catalog 2017
There are so many adorable stamp sets to choose from in the Occasions Catalog, I honestly want to buy all of them! However, I started with just a couple for now, Cool Treats and Moon Baby.
Being a HUGE lover of ice cream, this stamp set was right up my alley. What I love about this stamp set, are not only the stamps themselves, but also the colors incorporated in the Designer Series Paper and Washi Tape.
The second card I created using the Cool Treats Stamp Set was made with a different ice cream color, a cherry on top, and the sentiment was positioned in a different place. The cherry is part of the coordinating Frozen Treats Framelits Dies. I colored the cherry stem with a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.

The Moon Baby card below was colored in with our brand new Watercolor Pencils that are available in the Occasions Catalog.
This card was created with Whisper White Thick Cardstock as the base. I then added a layer of basic gray, but dry embossed it with the Lucky Stars Embossing Folder. Next I added a layer of Daffodil Delight, topped with a layer of Whisper White Cardstock. I stamped the images using Memento Ink. Lastly, I colored in with the Watercolor Pencils and then blended with Aqua Painters.
To add a little more pizzazz to the card, I added Wink of Stella to the stars. It is subtle, but that’s what I was going for. If you prefer more sparkle, you can always add more Wink of Stella!
