Plan the Perfect Getaway to Missouri – For the Whole Family

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Missouri Division of Tourism for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Have you started planning your summer getaway yet? Going on a vacation and trying to please everyone can be a bit of a challenge for us. For the longest time we were vacationing with my sister and her family, my mom and my in-laws totaling 13 people, six of them being children. At the time there was a specific area in Florida we would go to each year with a private beach, but over the years, due to all the hurricane activity, there really wasn’t any beach left! So now we are looking for a place to travel to that can accommodate several different generations of people.

You will be surprised to hear that Missouri is actually a place we can travel to that will accommodate all of us! Whether you enjoy spending time outdoors, bringing children, have some adult time, or enjoying a stay in Branson Missouri has it all.

If we were to plan a 4-day trip to Missouri, here are some of the things we would love to spend time doing:

Since we do have younger children, I think it would be great to visit at least one of the 51 State Parks Missouri has to offer! If we were camping, I would definitely go to Lake of the Ozarks. Did you know it has has more miles of shoreline than the entire state of California?

If some of the adults can get out that evening, it would visit one of the more than 100 wineries in Missouri. Apparently it is one of the oldest wine-producing states in the U.S.

On the second day, I know we would all enjoy spending the day at the St. Louis Zoo. Our kids love the zoo, as do we!

That night, it would be great to get in a Baseball game at the Busch Stadium! My husband is a die-hard Cubs fan and my daughter loves to tell him she is a St. Louis Cardinal fan just to irk him. Kids…

On the third day, we would enjoy spending the day at the Laura Ingalls Wilder Historic Home and Museum. I grew up watching Little House on the Prairie, and my daughter is at the reading level where she can start reading the Laura Ingalls Wilder books.

Our fourth, and last day in Missouri would definitely include a trip to see the Gateway Arch. I remember driving through St. Louis as a kid and seeing the arch from afar, but I have never had the opportunity to actually see it up close and go up in it!

There are so many things to do in Missouri that I have not even mentioned…we may have to make a second trip there on our own.

Here is a great video of some of the things to see and do in the “Show-Me” State!
