As mentioned in a previous post, my husband having lost his job back in February. Unfortunately, he is still not gainfully employed. Despite my husband being unemployed for 6 months, God has provided for us big time. I’m not sure how it’s all worked out financially, but it has. My husband’s part-time job at the fire department has been very generous with giving him a lot of shifts each month to help ease the financial burden.
Unfortunately, I have not been able to make any big Stampin’ Up! purchases for a while. I have been dying to get my hands on some of the new 2016-17′ stamp sets. Thankfully, I was recently able to purchase a few of the new sets and am excited to use one of them with this week’s Mojo Monday’s sketch.
Rain Down On Me
Each Monday, the website Mojo Monday posts a new sketch to use as inspiration for crafty projects. For someone who loves creating cards, getting fresh layout ideas each week is essential. For this weeks sketch, I used the Weather Together Photopolymer Bundle.
I am so happy I was able to get this particular bundle set. It’s so adorable and I can see it being used in so many different ways. With this weeks sketch, I wanted to design a fun card with this set. I incorporated the heart die cuts that are included the Weather Umbrella Framelits Dies with the umbrella from the same set.
Continuing with the heart theme, I used the retired Designer Series Paper (DSP) “Have a Cuppa” from 2016 Occasions. Along with the DSP, I also used Whisper White Thick, Pool Party, Melon Mambo, and Wisteria Wonder Cardstock. Also, I used the Melon Mambo ink.
Due to the card design, I felt this card needed a sentiment that was stacked, as opposed to it being one horizontal line. As a result, I combined the words “Love” and “You” from two different stamp sets. The word “Love” is from a fairly old stamp set called Pennant Parade. “You” was in the set “What I Love” that was available during the 2016 Sale-A-Bration.
