I have always been an avid reader, loving a wide range of genres. Since having children though, my reading time is a little more limited. Nighttime now seems to be my best opportunity to get some reading done. I’d like to shed some light on some recent books I’ve read, as well as a new book light by Mighty Bright.
Shed Some Light With New Mighty Bright
This year has been a great reading year for me. I had somewhat of an epiphany towards the end of last year, realizing I was not taking any time for myself. I was feeling burnt out all the time, and somewhat resentful for not having any time to myself. One thing I had always enjoyed, which I was not taking time to do, was reading.
One of my favorite times to read has always been at bedtime. It’s a great way to end the day and calm the mind. Our family has used the Mighty Brand book light for years now, and loves their features. When I was recently approached by Mighty Bright to review their newest Sidekick LED Book Light, I jumped on it!
For the first time, I made a reading goal. Using the website / App Goodreads, I committed to reading at least 10 books this year. I am happy to say I have met and exceeded my goal, having read 13 books so far!
I usually like to switch between genres, but lately I’ve been on this paranormal / fantasy kick. I seem to be very into vampires, witches, angels / fallen angels, wolves, etc. I’m not sure why, maybe just an escape from reality. 🙂 I’m sure, in the near future, I will go into paranormal / fantasy overload and then switch to another genre!

Mighty Bright Sidekick Book Light
The Mighty Bright lights we’ve always used have a longer neck on them. Sometimes however, I find them a little hard to position or they get a little wobbly over time. This new Sidekick book light is really amazing. It is small, but gives off great coverage of light. It is also super easy to position.
I have also gotten my kids in the habit of reading every night at bedtime. We always build time into our evenings for the kids to get ready for bed and then have at least 20 to 30 minutes of reading time. Megan loves using the new Mighty Bright Sidekick for her books. It is very lightweight and easy for her to maneuver.
