Do you believe it is October 1st? This year has flown by, and once again we are heading into the holidays. For this months blog hop, we are featuring items from the Stampin Up Holiday Catalog. I would like to share with you some of my personal favorites.
Stampin Up Holiday Catalog
Every year I say I’m going to start early on my Christmas cards, and every year I am make the mad rush to get it all done. Although, I have to admit, I am getting progressively better. Last year I started early, but then butted up against birthdays, Thanksgiving, and then Christmas. So the week after Christmas I finished up my cards and sent out late Christmas cards. I wrote a note in each card with a sentiment to the effect of hoping their holidays were filled with peace and joy.
So this year, I’ve started my cards even earlier. Fingers crossed that I might actually have them out on time!
There are so many stamp sets in this years Stampin Up Holiday Catalog that I am in love with. However, I know that it is not practical to purchase all of them, right? Nor could I afford them. I have seen so many gorgeous cards online by my fellow stampers using the holiday stamp sets – they are such an inspiration.
Two of my favorite sets are the Star Of Light Bundle Set and the Jar of Cheer Bundle Set.
Star of Light by Stampin Up
For this card, I used Stampin Up cardstock colors Soft Sky, Tempting Turquoise, and Whisper White. I stamped the swish in Tempting Turquoise. Then I used the Starlight Thinlits Dies to cut out a solid star using Soft Sky Cardstock. Next, using Whisper White Cardstock I stamped the more intricate star image in Versamark. I then used the Heat & Stick Embossing Powder, warmed it with the Heat Tool until it got warm then sprinkled it with Silver Stampin Glitter before heating it again. Lastly, I used the more intricate die to cut out the star. Some of the silver did come off the star when it ran through the Big Shot, but I really love how it turned out.
I cannot wait to make more cards with the Star of Light stamp set. There are so many cute cards to make with this set. I look forward to sharing more cards with you in the near future.
Jar of Cheer
The Jar of Cheer set is another adorable set that allows a lot of flexibility. This set actually uses the same Thinlits Dies as the Jar of Love set from the 2016-17 Annal Catalog.
For this card I stamped the snow man in Staz’ On ink. I then used Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, and Tangerine Tango Stampin’ Write pens to color his scarf, hat, and nose.
For the snow coming out of the jar I used the Stampin’ Up Two Way Glue. I simply rubbed it on and them sprinkled the Mica flakes over the glue sections. I shook off any loose mix and allowed it to drive.
