Since the time Megan was young, we have always had dessert after dinner. I have still continued on with that even now with Anna and Ethan. I think that is a fairly common thing to do. Although, I have noticed with my kids that they look forward to dessert a little too much! I cannot say that I really blame them since dessert is always so much fun.

Some days our "dessert" may consist of a piece of fruit, or a smoothie. Other days it can be more elaborate and be something such as homemade cookies, brownies or pie.

Does your family enjoy pie? I love pie, especially when I can make it an a la mode! As much as we love pie, I do not always have the time to make it from scratch. I usually end up getting a pie to make like Mrs. Smith's Signature Deep Dish pies. I love Mrs. Smith's pies. They taste just like you made them from scratch yourself, but without all the cleanup.

There are four varieties to choose from:

  • Signature Deep Dish Dutch Apple Pie with Caramel Sauce
  • Signature Deep Dish Cherry Pie with Butter Fudge Sauce
  • Signature Deep Dish Peach Pie with Cream Cheese Icing
  • Signature Deep Dish Pumpkin Pie with Cream Cheese Icing

Mrs. Smith makes it very easy to have homemade pie without going through all the preparation. All you have to do is take the pie out of the freezer, bake it, take it out to apple whatever sauces or icing you would like and then, if appropriate, put it back in the oven for a few more minutes. This gives you the ability to combine the ingredients with the icing/topping packet to create a unique customized pie!

One of my favorite kids of pie is Dutch Apple Pie with Caramel Sauce.

I have such a weakness for caramel, and when you combine that with streusel and apples…wow.

Pumpkin Pie with Cream Cheese Icing is another one of my all-time favorites.

I am a fan of pumpkin pie throughout the year, not necessarily just around the holidays.

Amanda Smith first started treating friends and family to her delicious pies back in the early 1900's. The first store they bought was in 1923. Today, the makers of MRS. SMITH'S® desserts continue the tradition started by Amanda Smith, delivering pies and cobblers with made-from-scratch goodness you can see and taste.

Which of these pies would you like to try? For your convenience, here is a list of retailers.
