Halloween’s almost here, and to celebrate we’re spotlighting two Disney Family Movies bite-size cartoon treats perfect to watch as you enjoy Halloween together: 1929’s Haunted House and 1937’s Lonesome Ghosts!

In 1929’s Haunted House everybody’s favorite mouse, Mickey, weathers a ferocious storm (sound familiar?) in a haunted house and is forced to play the organ for ghosts and skeletons!

  • Bit of Disney trivia:  Haunted House appears as a transition level in the phenomenally successful video game Epic Mickey

In 1937’s Lonesome Ghosts four bored ghosts decide to reach out to several ghost exterminators— in this case, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy— to have some spooky and silly laughs!  Goofy even utters a line that will become famous 47 years later in Ghostbusters:  “I ain’t afraid of no ghosts!”  Garwsh!

  • Bit of Disney trivia:  Originally the ghosts from Lonesome Ghosts were to have appeared in the Haunted Mansion attraction.
  • In both spooky shorts the voice of Mickey Mouse is the un-credited vocal talents of Walt Disney himself
