Herb Gardening Basics from the Ground Up

Each year I like to add more and more to our garden. Currently, I have a flower garden and a vegetable garden. But this year I would like to start a herb garden. Not only will it allow me to save money, but I love using fresh herbs. I also love having the kids learn from having these items right in our back yard. For the past few years, when the kids want a snack they go to our vegetable garden and eat a tomato right off the vine. Since I do not know anything about herb gardening, I really need to learn some herb gardening basics.

When I start a project, I always make the time to do some research first. So, since I am not sure what the best way is to grow an herb garden, I was excited to find this book, Herb Gardening from the Ground Up. It says it will tell you everything you need to know about growing herbs at home no experience necessary.

iconWhat are the advantages of growing your own herbs? One, they will be fresh. Dried herbs just don’t have the same robustness. Two, you can pick what you want without waste. At the grocery, you pay a high price for a certain amount that goes to waste if you don’t use it all at once. Third, it’s easy to do and you don’t need to set up an elaborate garden plot to do it, unless you want to.
