Murphy’s Law Kicking Butt – Go Figure #IfAnythingCanGoWrongItWill

Murphy’s Law Kicking Butt

Where have I been lately? Good question. Sleeping a whole lot. Why? I’m not sure. However, things tend to happen at the most inopportune times, which is why I say Murphy’s Law is kicking my butt!

I thought all of my tiredness was occurring because I have not been diligent at sticking to my paleo / low carb diet. However, I’ve been correcting that, and still no increase in energy.

My day begins with waking up (at least I get out of bed), make kids lunches, and then finally get them up and out the door for school. Once they are on the bus, I get my other morning chores done, such as empty the dishwasher and feed the pets. After that, I’m done – literally. I sit on the couch to read for a few minutes and fall asleep. Not just a 20 minute nap, but for hours! I’m not sure how to overcome this extreme tiredness.

To top it off, for the first time in my entire life, I am without health insurance. My husband started a new job in the middle of January. Unfortunately, insurance does not kick in until April 1st. His former employer’s insurance ended January 31st. They were a small company, and didn’t offer COBRA. The healthcare market, that is supposed to make insurance affordable, is over $1300 a month! Besides that, the insurance wouldn’t even kick in until March 1st, which means my son’s visit to urgent care for stitches wouldn’t even be covered.

My thought process was to just get prescription card and pay for our scripts until April 1st. We will be good until then, right? Wrong…

Murphy’s Law.

Last week my son fell on ice, which required stitches and now who knows what is going on with me! Ugh I would suggest my thyroid, but I already see a doctor regularly for my hypothyroidism (Hashimoto’s Autoimmune Disease). I am due to see my endocrinologist in May, who I see every year for a blood panel, thyroid scan, and bone density.

I know thyroid levels can fluctuate, but I’ve never really had a big jump in prescription that would cause this type of exhaustion. I’m praying it’s more weather related. We’ve had many days of overcast dreary weather. I’m starting to get outside and walk whenever possible. Hopefully that will pep me up a bit!

Have you ever experienced this type of exhaustion? How was it resolved for you?
