Our Christmas Eve Story Resembled A Christmas Story

Our Christmas Eve Story

Have you ever had one of those moments when your life resembled a movie? That was our Christmas Eve story this year. It somewhat resembled the movie “A Christmas Story”.

Our Christmas Eve story, it resembled A Christmas Story!

We were all praying for a White Christmas, and our prayers were fulfilled on Christmas Eve. As we were planning to travel to my husband’s family’s, an hour away. However, after an hour of driving on a heavily snow covered expressway with no snowplow in sight, we decided to turn around and head back home. We had only actually travelled a few miles from home.

On our return trip, we made the decision to bake cookies, make homemade bone-in split pea soup, and open our traditional Christmas Eve gifts. Therefore, our decisions made it necessary to stop for ingredients to bake cookies. It also made us want to stop for lunch since it was already getting later. Guess what we ate for lunch! Chinese food! LOL

Thankfully, we did not get the infamous Chinese Turkey for our meal. Although, it was very funny later that evening to watch the movie and see the similarities in our stories.

Christmas Eve Traditions

Growing up, my sister and I always got to open one Christmas Eve present. It was always our Christmas pajamas. Even though we knew this would be our gift each and every Christmas Eve, we never stopped getting excited.

This year, I decided to not only get the kids their pajamas, but also my husband and I. I have to say, it was a hit!

Our Christmas Eve story and our tradition.

We did not have the bunny pj’s as in A Christmas Story, although my husband did look like a giant candy cane! I had come across a link on a blogging friends site for an online store called Pat Pat. I was able to order our matching pajama’s through this store at 70% off. They all fit perfectly too, except for my son’s pants. They are a couple of inches too short, so I’m ordering a larger pair for him.

All in all, even though we didn’t make it to my in-law’s (for the first time ever) and we ended up with Chinese food instead of at a Crab Bake, we had an amazing Christmas Eve.

Do you recall a time when it seemed like a scene out of a movie?

  3. Nіcely lіke Mommy stated, when we love eacһ other and love the woгld tthat
Jesus died for, thаt?s a form off worship. Once we think
about God and hearken tօ the sermon or in Sunday Ϝaculty,
that?ѕ a manner of worshipping becauwe ԝe are studying how ɡreatt Godd is and He
likes that. Or aaftеr we sit round and tell еach otһer what the best things about
