Quality Time with Family: Holiday Movies with Netflix #NetflixKids

This Quality Time with Family: Holiday Movies with Netflix is part of a campaign on behalf of Netflix.  As a member of the Netflix Stream Team, I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating. Thoughts are 100% my own.

Besides all the hustle and bustle of the holidays, it is also a great time to relax and spend quality time with family. One of the things I struggle with is just relaxing. I feel as though I always have to be doing something. There is always so much to do, I find it difficult to stop keeping busy. I realize though that I will never get these moments back, so my family has to be a priority.

For Christmas, I made sure we got several games that would make good family games. Since there is somewhat of a larger age gap between my kids, ages 6 and 10, it does make it somewhat difficult. However, I did manage to find several really fun games that the 6 year olds can understand but the 10 year old still finds a lot of fun. I have to admit, Mancala is one of our favorites!

Quality Time with Family

Netflix is a wonderful way to spend some quality time with family, relaxing time with the children. Since the weather is so cold right now, the kids do not get outside to play nearly as much now than in the summer. They then get full of energy come early evening, and then we have to find a way to calm them back down before bed-time.

There are some great movies I enjoy watching with the kids, like Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups!

My son is still loves his Thomas, so it was fun to watch the Thomas & Friends: Ultimate Christmas show.

My children have always enjoyed watching Veggie Tales. It is always a very appropriate show that always teaches some kind of lesson. We enjoyed watching Veggie Tales: A Story of Joyful Giving together this year.

There are also these other great holiday classics to enjoy with your family:

Mickey’s Magical Christmas
Power Rangers Super Samurai: Stuck on Christmas
Super WHY: ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas
Lady Gaga and The Muppets Holiday Spectacular
Dreamworks Holiday Classics
Charlie Brown’s Christmas Tales
I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown
Kung Fu Panda: Holiday
Phineas and Ferb: Christmas Vacation

Also, you can take these classics on the road with you to watch them anywhere, anytime! Netflix Streaming allows you to log on to your account wherever you have Internet access. Then you just find the movie you want to watch, and view it right from your device!

Chocolate Candy Cane Smoothies

Here is another option for you to enjoy while watching your movies. Instead of having the traditional popcorn or chips, try this delicious and healthy on-the-go treat: a Chocolate Candy Cane Smoothie. A holiday favorite, peppermint hot chocolate inspires the recipe.

Even better? Though it might taste almost dessert-like, it’s actually a protein-packed snack that will keep the kids full and energized…without the sugar rush. Click here to learn how to make your own.
