Sending Season Greetings With Handmade Cards – Blog Hop

Sending Season Greetings With Handmade Cards

It’s that time of year again…already! Buying gifts, making cards and wrapping presents. Today though, we start off December with the Blogging Friends Blog hop. The theme is Christmas! This is a perfect theme, forces me to get my act together with sending season greetings.

Who are the ‘Blogging Friends’?  It is a small community of bloggers formed by Crystal Komara just over two years ago. We are all Stampin’ Up! demonstrators located across the U.S. and Canada who have never met before.  Well, actually, we haven’t met in person yet However, through our common bond of Stampin’ Up! and a shared love of papercrafting we have created a fun  blog hop. Please join us on the 1st of every month to see what wonderful things we have created!

This month I’ve made a couple of different Christmas cards for you! Apparently I really liked the wreath theme, since I did that with both cards!

Pretty Pines

The focal point of this card is a wreath created using the Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies with Garden Green cardstock. I first adhered a piece of Whisper White cardstock embossed with the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder onto the 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ Cherry Cobbler Card base.

Next, I stamped the sentiment from the Christmas Pines Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler onto Whisper White Cardstock. Then, using the Layering Circles Framelits I cut out the sentiment and attached it to the front of the card. I then built my wreath around the sentiment.

Lastly, I added a bow in Cherry Cobbler using the Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies once again, with a Rhinestone Basic Jewel in the center of it. I finished off the wreath with a few of the Regals Enamel Shapes in Cherry Cobbler to represent hollies.

Swirly Scribbles

This second card, which again has a wreath as a focal point, is created using Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies. I used the same cardstock as before, but this time Garden Green is my card base. Layered on the base is a piece of Whisper White cards stock that is embossed using the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

The sentiment on the front of the card is from the Star of Light Stamp set using the Duet Banner Punch. The swirls are stamped in Cherry Cobbler using the Swirly Bird Stamp Set. I then used the coordinating thinlits dies to cut them out. For a final little touch, I used Wink of Stella on the swirls!
