Shelter From The Storm – Paper Craft Crew Challenge

The Paper Craft Crew presents a new challenge each week, this is another challenge I’ve not participated in before now! Today’s card offers encouragement for those seeking shelter from the storm in their life. It is part of the Weather Together stamp set by Stampin’ Up!

Shelter From The Storm

Seeking shelter from the storm. A card of encouragement. All products are Stampin Up only. SUO #pcc252

We all go through our storms in life. We’ve had our own storm recently, with my husband’s unemployment, which lasted for 15 months. Thankfully, my husband finally received gainful employment at the end of May. However, we are still struggling to recuperate from our long storm.

In all honesty, I’m still not sure if I am totally thrilled with how this card turned out. Maybe it’s the combination of colors? I may have to redo it at some point using a different color combination. already for this card I redid the whisper white card stock with the raid drops several times. I was very unhappy with how it kept turning out!

How To:

The base of this card was created using Tempting Turquise Cardstock. I then added a layer of Whisper White cardstock stamped with the clouds from the Weather Together stamp set in Tempting Turquise. From there I added a layer of Night of Navy. Using Stampin Dimensionals, I popped up a piece of Whisper White cardstock stamped with rain drops in Night of Navy. The Umbrella was stamped in Pear Pizzaz and cut out using the Umbrella Weather Thinlits Dies with the Big Shot. The handle of the umbrella is glued down, while the top of the umbrella is popped up with Dimensionals.

Lastly, I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies to cut out a piece of Whisper White with the sentiment from Weather Together in Night of Navy. I added the banner in Tempting Turquise behind the sentiment in Tempting Turquise. For the opens space on the Whisper White, I used Enamel Dots from the Regals collection in Night of Navy. I also added one of those same enamel shapes, the heart, on the sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card! Please feel free to message me if you have any questions. 😊
