Simple Gift Box Creation – Part 2 of 5 Series – A Little Wild

A couple days ago I shared a card with you featuring the A Little Wild Stamp Set. Today, part 2 of my 5 part series, you will learn how to make and decorate a simple gift box creation.

Simple Gift Box Creation

For today’s project, I am using the Simply Scored tool to make a 3 x 3 gift box.

The bottom of the gift box is created using Tranquil Tide Cardstock cut at 7 3/16″ x 7 3/16″. Then, using Simply Scored, the paper is scored at 2″, rotating it counter-clockwise until all 4 sides are scored. Next, I cut a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock at 6 1/4″ x 6 1/4″. It is then scored the same way as the Tranquil Tide, but at the 1 1/2″ mark.

Next, burnish the folds using the Bone Folder. Once the burnishing is done, you can start decorating the top of your gift box.

  2. Basic Gray Cardstock cut using the Layering Circles Framelits Dies.
  3. Very Vanilla Cardstock cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.
  4. A Little Wild elephant stamped in Tranquil Tide on Very Vanilla Cardstock.
  5. Elephant cut out using the Little Loves Framelits Dies.
  6. The Elephant folded with the inside stamped with the To / From stamp.
  7. Cut out leaf vine in Tranquil Tide using Little Loves Framelits Dies.
  8. Adhere the Tranquil Tide, Basic Gray Scalloped Circle, and Very Vanilla Stitched Circle using Snail Adhesive.
  9. Use the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the leaf vine to the Very Vanilla shape.
  10. Use Linen Thread to put through the hole at the top of the gift tag.
  11. Attach the back of the gift tag to the box top using Mini Glue Dots.

Once the box top decorating is done, it’s time to put your box together!

The boxes are held together with Fast Fuse Adhesive. To begin this process, start by putting strips of adhesive on the outside of each flap. Next, fold in one flap at a time adhering each one to the inside of the box side. Continue folding in flaps as you turn it counter-clockwise for both the top and bottom of the gift box.
