Tips to Make Your Mondays Great

Mondays… Why are they so dang hard? If you’re like most people, you start dreading them on Sunday when the realization hits that the weekend is almost over. For me, I don’t necessarily dread Monday’s. The kids go back to school and I get to work on my blog. However, at some point after my morning routine, my motivation vanishes. To help us unmotivated Monday people, I’m sharing tips to make your Mondays great.

Tips to Make Your Mondays Great


  1. Make sure you get enough sleep. Oftentimes we change our sleeping habits over the weekend, staying up later and waking up later than normal. However, what that does is put us into a little bit of a jet lag come Monday morning. Consistency is key. Try, as much as possible, to coordinate your weekend hours with your weekday hours.
  2. Get up early, or on-time. The worst way to start off your week is running late. It truly does begin your day and week on a bad note.
  3. Eat that Frog – Figuratively of course, not in the literal sense. As in the popular book by Brian Tracy, do the most difficult task first. Any other day of the week I can begin my day in a more relaxed way. Although, on Mondays if I begin with the easiest, that’s where it will end. On Monday’s I have to start my day with my biggest assignment, or it won’t get done.
  4. Make Monday your Cheat Day. Most people will make a weekend day their cheat day, but why not allow the joy of cheating on your diet or no exercise on a Monday? Maybe that will give you something to look forward to on your Mondays!
  5. Listen to fun music. A Monday playlist is just the thing to get you pumped up for your day, and ultimately, your week.

  4. I do really well the first few hours of the morning, so that’s when I tackle the hardest chores. I had never heard of the saying eat the frog. Gulp it down and get going!

  5. I start my day with just what you mentioned above, a good cup of coffee, positive attitude and prayer! I’ve been setting that tone for my Mondays for years and so far all has been well.
