Ways to Celebrate and Be Grateful Each Day

How do you find ways to celebrate each day? I think it is really hard to be grateful for even the little things in life on most days with all the stress we have face on a daily basis. However, when I slow down for even a moment and take in all that I have, I realize how incredibly fortunate I am.


Ways to Celebrate and Be Grateful Each Day

Traditionally we talk about being thankful during the holidays and special occasions, but wouldn’t it be nice to make every day a celebration by being thankful?

Here are some ways to celebrate and be grateful each day:

1. Right State of Mind

This is one of those things that is much easier said than done. But, when you feel stress or anxiety it is very difficult to feel grateful. Finding a relieve for stress is key to being in the right state of mind. Whether it is through exercise, meditation, prayer, or deep breathing, whatever works best for you can be utilized relax. When you start focusing on the things you are thankful for, there will be less and less time to think of the things that are troublesome.

2. Celebrate the Moment

Try living in the moment, not the past or the future. Right now is the time you can really make a change. Take a moment to appreciate where you are right now, and just be grateful for even all the big and small things you see and feel.

3. Show Gratitude to Your Family

I understand that not everyone may not have a very supportive family. However, there may be be a small group of people you do count on that you would consider “family”. It seems that those we consider family are the easiest to be forgotten and even taken for granted. Taking a moment to celebrate your family each day is a great way to show how much they mean to you and how much they are appreciated. You can do this be taking the time to show gratefulness do a different family member each day, even by just recognizing what they bring to the family or group and their personality.

4. Remember Your Friends

Another group of people who can be easily taken for granted are your friends. This is especially now with all of the online friends through social networking. Instead of amassing more online friends, take a moment to celebrate something some special quality that a friend has today. This does not have to be a huge commitment, it could mean a small note, a text, phone call, or some other personal communication would make his or her day. Of course, you could do something more if you wanted, such as meet for coffee or go out to lunch.  It is amazing how much even the smallest of gestures can make someone’s day.

5. Go Outdoors

Make it a point to get outdoors each day. It is amazing how beneficial some fresh outdoor air can be for you. Also, do not let cooler weather or rain be a deterrent.  Even if it’s cool and rainy, there are some lovely things you can experience outdoors. You can even just be thankful for the rain bu putting on some rain boots and going for a walk in it. Is the sun shining today? Take your lunch outdoors and celebrate the sun!

The key to celebrating each day is by being thankful for even the small things you have. It’s a state of mind.
